Woodward Point

Woodward Point Info

Woodward Point Preserve is a unique property and conservation success story. Conserved in collaboration with and now owned by Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT), the 87-acre protected property includes more than two miles of shoreline along the New Meadows River in Brunswick, making it one of Southern Maine’s largest undeveloped waterfront parcels. The Land Trust co-manages the property with MCHT, and the diverse landscape includes expansive fields, forests, a freshwater pond, and multiple water access points, offering year-round outdoor recreation from birdwatching and kayaking to cross-country skiing and ice skating. Its rich habitats support shorebirds, bald eagles, and abundant wildlife, while a 1.5-mile trail network leads visitors through scenic fields and forests to the water’s edge with stunning views of Casco Bay.

Andy’s Trail, located on the Preserve, is an ADA-accessible trail providing access to visitors of many different abilities, making Woodward Point a friendlier destination for people who need a level surface to walk, use a wheelchair, or push a stroller. The half-mile trail features a 5- to 7-foot-wide, flat surface of packed stone.

Visitors should be prepared for ticks and porcupines, both common residents of the preserve.
