We have even more reasons to go for a walk around the Cathance River Nature Preserve this week! Spring flowers are in bloom and although the lady slippers haven’t yet made an appearance, you’ll find a wealth of other wildflowers along the Health Loop at the Cathance Nature Preserve.  The rhodoras are in full bloom, and starflowers, bunchberries, and more line the path.

Rhodora (Rhododendron canadense)

Bunchberry Dogwood (Cornus canadensis)

Azure Bluet (Houstonia caerulea L.)

Starflower (Trientalis borealis)

Eastern Skunk Cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus)

Fringed polygala (Polygala paucifolia)

Wild Calla (Calla palustris)

Thank you BTLT Board President, Emily Swan, for the lovely photos!
