With only two weeks until opening day on May 4th, Farmers’ Market Manager Jacqui Koopman seized the opportunity of Wednesday’s beautiful weather to marshal a team of volunteers to begin preparing the site at Crystal Spring Farm for the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust Farmers’ Market..

Volunteers Connor Fitzsimmons, Dale Dorr, and Tom Rumpf spread woodchips that will keep the most heavily traveled parts of the market green from turning to mud under shoppers’ feet. Kristen Lolatte, Ian Poeeraatmadja and Logan Engstrom – our parking team – reset stakes, laid out ropes, and put bike racks & benches in place. Rip Swan took the day off work at Barrett Made Construction in Portland to tackle a variety of tasks, including rebuilding signs, dismantling dilapidated structures. Barrett Made supports its employees’ contributions to their communities by allowing them paid days off for volunteer activities.

Thank you to our parking team and our volunteers for spending the afternoon with us to get us ready for the Market! May 4th will be here before we know it…
