Join Wayne Whitney, member of BTLT’s Stewardship Committee, for a guided tour of Chase Reserve. The walk will cover the history of the property and information on how the land is stewarded.
Chase Reserve is a 194-acre easement property on Bunganuc Road in Brunswick. Protected in 2011, the property has extensive shore frontage on ecologically significant Maquoit Bay, including valuable intertidal land. Part of the largest unfragmented forest block along the coast in Cumberland County, Chase Reserve’s diverse mix of managed forest, late successional white pine and hemlock stands, and vernal pools make it a great place to see wildlife
Wayne Whitney has been a BTLT member for 34 years and an active volunteer for 10 years. His volunteer work primarily focuses on trail management. Wayne is a retired attorney, 10th generation Mainer, and has lived in Brunswick for 38 years. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, biking, and X-country skiing.
The walk should take 1 hour. We suggest wearing sturdy shoes and bringing water, sunscreen, and a hat.
