- September 18, 2018
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Learn how to preserve the integrity of your soil and revitalize areas used by heavy feeders. Make sure your perennials and hardy annuals are set to survive through the winter and save seeds from those annual plants you want to be sure to raise again next year.
- Expand your knowledge on this topic with books from our Gardening Section:
- Seed to seed : seed saving and growing techniques for vegetable gardeners / by Suzanne Ashworth ; edited by Kent Whealy ; photography by David Cavagnaro.
- The well-tended perennial garden : planting & pruning techniques / Tracy DiSabato-Aust.
- Gardening for a lifetime : how to garden wiser as you grow older / by Sydney Eddison ; illustrations by Kimberly Day Proctor.
This event is a part of the 2018 Growing Literacy Series.
Thanks to the generosity of the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust, Curtis Memorial Library is pleased to host a series of hands-on workshops at BTLT’s Tom Settlemire Community Garden.
Join us in 2018 as we relearn how to relax and read in the garden. Learn how to grow free plants, get produce without weeding, and create a productive space to relax and read. All garden workshops will include a parcel tour.
Unless otherwise noted, all programs will take place at the garden. The Tom Settlemire Community Garden is at the end of Maurice Drive in Brunswick, Maine. (For GPS use 90 Maurice Drive.) All programs are free and open to the public.
CSF – North is the location of one of our trail heads, as well as our Tom Settlemire Community Garden and Labyrinth in the Woods
