Polycultures is a film about diverse communities in Ohio coming together to create a more sustainable and local food system. PolyCultures is firmly rooted in the idea that local/sustainable food is good for the health of individuals, communities, local economies, and the environment. To balance the advocacy perspective, it features many national and international experts who place area food production in the bigger picture of sustainability.
This film is part of our “Community Food: A Forum & Film Series.” This series will include a showing of five films about various aspects of the food system. Each film will be followed by discussions to get the community’s input on issues presented in the films, as well as where local projects and resources are located. And is part of our LFLF partnership and a wider effort along with a number of local organizations and community members to form a Community Food Council (CFC) for the southern Midcoast region.
Long time farmer and local food advocate Tom Settlemire will head the discussion after the film.
