Join pest specialist Eric Sideman and long-time farmer Tom Settlemire at the Community Garden for a pest and disease walk, and hands-on soil testing event.
Ever wondered what that strange bug is on your beans, or how to keep blight off your tomatoes? Want to learn more about your soil in a hands-on way? Then this is the event for you!
Eric Sideman, MOFGA Crop Specialist is an expert in garden pests and diseases and will be coming to the Community Garden to discuss vegetable diseases and pests and some of the organic options for their management and control.
Tom Settlemire, sheep farmer at Crystal Spring Farm has been building soil fertility for decades. He will have some soil testing equipment on hand so that you can learn about your own soil sample. He will talk with you about how to develop your soil to suit your growing needs and troubleshoot issues.
