  • September 22, 2022
    4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Join BTLT and Queerly ME on September 22nd for a Plant Identification Walk at Crystal Spring Farm! This walk will include basic plant identification skills, highlighting some of the various species on the property, as well as touching on themes like queer ecology and eco-feminism.

Maddie Eberly

This walk will be led by Maddie Eberly (she/they). Currently working with the Forest Stewards Guild promoting sustainable forestry, Maddie holds a degree in botany from UMaine and has worked as a botany technician with the Maine Natural Areas Program as well as in a couple botany-related labs. They occasionally lead tours at the Orono Bog.

Registration is capped a 15 people, so sign up quick! Tickets cost $15, please click here to register through Queerly ME’s website.

If cost is a barrier, scholarship spots are available, please contact lydia@btlt.org if interested.

The intention of this space is to be explicitly Queer centered. Queerly ME defines Queerness as “fluidity in one’s gender or sexuality outside of a more binary LGBT+ identity. A Queer person can identify as only Queer or choose to define themself as both Queer and other identities within the LGBTQ+ community.” This event aims to provide intergenerational safe spaces for connection, community building, and outdoor exploration amongst the Queer and LGBTQIA+ community, though allies are welcome.
