***Note, this event is on Friday, February 15 but the exact meeting time will be sent upon registration.
Celebrate the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend by joining us for a fun winter outing in Topsham at the Cathance River Nature Preserve.
This outing is geared to active seniors (but open to all) who love to get outside in our winter wonderland. The pace will be geared to the group’s abilities as a whole. You should have some experience snowshoeing or hiking with microspikes, but anyone with proper gear and ability are welcome.
Snowshoes are available if needed – contact leader to discuss.
Michelle Moody of AMC will lead the group on a snowshoe or hike (based on conditions) on the trails at the Preserve – this is one of her favorite hikes in the area. We have a choice of doing the trails along the river or around the Heath. The group will help decide. Maybe a bit of both. This will be an afternoon outing with the hope that it’s a bit warmer. After the outing, we may be able to visit the CREA Ecology Center and then maybe go for a hot drink or a cold brew at a local pub.
To register, please email leader information at email@example.com on your winter gear, level of winter experience or normal hiking activity and a phone contact. Full details and a gear list will be emailed after you register. Directions will be provided upon registration.
