Family Full Moon Lantern Walk
December 17, 2021
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
With December marking the start of winter in the Northern Hemisphere, this month’s full moon is called the Long Nights Moon because it occurs around the time of the winter solstice. Join CREA Camp Director Jenny Mueller for a Family Full Moon Lantern Walk on the Long Nights Moon at Crystal Spring Farm trail.
Families are welcome to make this full moon walk even more special by carrying their own home-made lanterns to illuminate our way along the trails. Learn how to make your own lantern at home, or join us on Wednesday, December 15th, from 4:00pm – 5:00pm in the Children’s section at the Topsham Public Library for a hands-on solstice craft event. This is a free drop-in program, and all ages are welcome to attend with the support of a parent or guardian.. Click here for details! Although glass jars can be beautiful as lanterns – they can break easily. We highly recommend using recycled plastic jars or bottles for your hiking lantern.
This collaborative CREA / Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust event is provided at no cost thanks to the generous support of our Members.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND, please complete one registration form per family/group attending. Details about time and parking for the event will be sent to registered participants, no walk-ins please. To register, click here.
If you would like to volunteer to help guide our full moon group, please email Jenny at firstname.lastname@example.org.
