You’re warmly invited to join us for a joy-filled Fall Volunteer Work Party at BTLT’s Tom Settlemire Community Garden as we prepare the Garden for the season of rest.
Together we’ll spend the afternoon caring for the garden spaces we share—working on a variety of projects in small groups, connecting with fellow gardeners, and celebrating the winding down of the season. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply enjoy lending a hand, there will be meaningful ways for everyone to participate.
Tasks may include:
- Turning the compost and constructing new compost bins
- Wood chipping garden pathways and developing new paths
- Supporting the orchard including peach and apple trees
- Tending to the pollinator and perennial gardens
- And other seasonal projects that help the garden thrive
There truly will be something for everyone of all ages and abilities! This is a great opportunity to share your talents and skills, learn from others, and contribute to the care of this beloved community space. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know others who hold the garden dear to their hearts. Snacks and drinks will be on hand to fortify our efforts, and there is sure to be laughter, good cheer, and a shared sense of accomplishment by the end of the afternoon.
Come for part of the time or stay for the whole work party—every bit of help makes a difference. Please RSVP to help us plan for supplies and snacks, though you are welcome to simply drop in. We look forward to seeing you!
