Maine Bird Atlas Workshop

Join BTLT for a workshop with The Maine Bird Atlas, a project to survey and map the distribution and abundance of breeding and wintering birds in Maine. Birds are an excellent indicator of environmental health, allowing for an overall understanding of the environmental health of the State of Maine. This workshop will focus on the importance of understanding bird populations, what bird populations indicate and how you as a citizen scientist can play role in this effort. 

Winter Garden Workshop – Hands-On Pruning

With 40 years of pruning experience, Tim Vail will explain the importance of allowing sunlight to penetrate the tree.  Careful pruning controls growth, removes dead or diseased wood, and leads to improves longevity and productivity.  Tim will provide us with a hands-on workshop using branches and a misshapen fruit tree in a Christmas tree stand!
