Cow Island is a 58-acre island in the Androscoggin River. Owned in fee, it is accessible by a short canoe ride from areas south of Foreside Road near Topsham library. The island is often flooded by high spring river flows and has several channels that cut deep into the island. Cow Island serves as a stopover site for many migratory birds. Large silver maples cover much of the island, with an thick understory of the invasive Japanese knotweed in places.

The island is open to the public for passive recreation.
