For Adults

Part of our mission is to connect adults with the natural world through inclusive education and recreation programs because we believe that when a community is deeply connected to its land, it will prosper. Explore below to see the various adult-focused opportunities we host year-round!

Community Science
Help us collect data on the biodiversity of our preserves through community science platforms such as eBird and iNaturalist. Download the relevant app and visit one of our trails to collect data. Head to our trail pages to see what other community scientists have documented!

LGBTQIA+ Trail Mixers
We host seasonal trail walks for the LGBTQIA+ community, in close collaboration with Maine-based nonprofit, Queerly ME. These low-key walks are intentionally organized to build community and foster connections while exploring and enjoying the outdoors. Head to our Events Calendar to see upcoming dates.

Spring Birding Extravaganza
Each spring we host a series of birding events throughout the region in partnership with other local land conservation organizations. Whether you’re new to birdwatching or a seasoned professional, this is a great opportunity to meet other bird-enthusiasts while enjoying spring migration. Events are posted on the Events Calendar each spring.

Speaker Series
Throughout the year, we partner with local libraries to host a series of educational talks focused on environmental literacy, helping keep our community informed about the environmental spaces and issues of our time. Head to our Events Calendar to see upcoming dates.

Winter Garden Workshops
Partnered with the Curtis Memorial Library and Growing to Give, we provide a series of workshops on everything from how to build soil health to combatting invasive species to learning about our local food supply and more. If you want to build your gardening skills while connecting with other like-minded garden stewards, these workshops are for you. Events are posted on the Events Calendar each winter.

Other Events
We also offer a variety of other themed programs throughout the year, helping connect community members of all ages to the wonders of nature. Events include invasive species removal workshops, our annual Taking Root Plant Sale, volunteer workdays, eco-crafting programs, our Winter Solstice Lantern Walk, nature photography walks, and more!
Head to our Events Calendar to see what’s coming up, or sign up for our e-newsletter to stay in the loop.
