A Celebration of Community, Stewardship, and the Growing Season

This year’s Plant Sale on May 30th welcomed hundreds of visitors to the Tom Settlemire Community Garden, raised over $7,000 for to support BTLT’s garden programs, and connected neighbors through a shared love of gardening, pollinators, and local conservation.

Hosting the Sale at the Garden gave community members an opportunity to experience one of our area’s most vibrant community spaces. Home to an orchard, more than 80 garden plots, Cooperative Extension-certified pollinator gardens, plant propagation beds, and the Common Good Garden, the Tom Settlemire Community Garden offers a place where people, plants, and pollinators thrive together. Sharing this special place with our neighbors is one of the many benefits of the annual plant sale.

This year, nearly 1,000 plants were available for purchase, the majority of them grown right at the Garden. While the Sale itself takes place over a single day, it represents months of planning, growing, and preparation. In the four weeks leading up to the event alone, volunteers contributed hundreds of hours to ensure its success.

A remarkable team of 60 volunteers brought their time, energy, creativity, and problem-solving skills to every aspect of the sale. Their efforts help put locally grown pollinator-friendly plants into the hands of community members, support BTLT’s conservation and community programs, and create meaningful opportunities for neighbors to connect with one another.
