2023 Farmers’ Market Poster: Tomato Party!
We are thrilled to share with you all the 2023 official BTLT Farmers’ Market poster! This year’s artwork, “Tomato Party”, was done by the Portland-based printmaker (and huge fan of the BTLT Farmers’ Market) Anastasia Inciardi!
Growing up Italian American, food has always been central in Ana’s family; entire weeks were planned around meals and every outing or activity involved some sort of culinary reward. Carving linocuts of food connects her to her family and the experience of bonding with others over a good meal.
You might recognize Ana’s work from around Portland or from the Whatley Farm van that brings all the seedlings to the Market! Her fiancé Addy Wagner works at Whatley Farm and was the designer of last year’s beautiful kale-themed poster.
Creating the Farmers’ Market poster brings together a love of art and agriculture. In Ana’s words: “The Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust Farmers’ Market is filled with inspiration for me. My partner, Addison, works at Whatley Farm and usually works at their booth. Whenever I visit her, the fresh produce immediately fills my mind with ideas. I am a linocut printmaker whose primary muse is food. So designing the poster was a perfect project!”
You will find Ana and Addy selling their prints at the Farmers’ Market throughout the season and you can pick up a copy of this stunning poster at the BTLT info booth any Saturday!
