About BTLT

The public is welcome to use trails at two parcels owned by BTLT in Brunswick and at two properties in Topsham where BTLT holds conservation easements. In addition, BTLT holds an easement allowing public access to most of Lower Coombs Island in the New Meadows River. The five properties offer a range of landscapes to explore including working farms, protected shores along Middle Bay and the Cathance River, and an island.

Crystal Spring Farm in Brunswick is the largest of these properties, with 322 acres straddling Pleasant Hill Road. The farm is home to the Crystal Spring Community Farm that provides organic produce to the community through both farm shares and a Saturday farmers' market. Just a few miles to the east, the 11-acre Captain Alfred Skolfield Preserve borders the waterfront of Middle Bay in Brunswick. Across the bridge in Topsham are the 163-acre Bradley Pond Farm and 230-acre Cathance River Nature Preserve.

These properties have well-marked trails intended for use by hikers, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers. No motorized vehicles are allowed, and most of the preserves do not allow pets. Please remember that most of these lands are occupied by their owners for residential and agricultural purposes; park in designated areas, stick to marked trails, and respect the owners' privacy. Thank you and enjoy!
